Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach Miss Universe 2015

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (born September 24, 1989), and also known both locally in Mindanao and professionally as Pia Romero, is a Filipina-German actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas 2015 on March 15, and later crowned Miss Universe 2015 on December 20.

Wurtzbach's father is German and her mother is from the Philippines. She was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg but then moved to Cagayan de Oro on the island of Mindanao in her teens. In Cagayan de Oro, she attended kindergarten at Kong Hua School and primary school at Corpus Christi.
Wurtzbach speaks fluent Cebuano (Visayan), English, German and Tagalog.
She finished her secondary education at ABS-CBN Distance Learning School in Quezon City and studied Culinary Arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Wurtzbach represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2015 held on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. At the end of the show, host Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez as the winner. However, after Gutiérrez's crowning, Harvey stated that he had misread the results and that Wurtzbach was the actual Miss Universe 2015. Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega then removed the crown from Gutiérrez's head and placed it on Wurtzbach's head.

Ay, hindi. Yun lang, ngayon lang ako inalok. I only said yes because I'm not 16 anymore. Hindi rin naman ako 20s. So, why not? At saka, lagi ko lang sinasabi mas okay yung habang bata or kaya ng katawan ko bakit hindi? Alangan naman mag-decide ako na mag-cover kapag kulukulubot na yung balat ko. At least when I get older, I can see na kinaya ko to.
